Graceland - What an amazing place, it's down on my list for my next visit to Merthyr/Pontypridd.
Thanks for sharing your photos - brilliant

All,
I can't make the "Christmas Events" because I will be in Hong Kong from early December! But I hope you all have a great time, I think the idea of a Rootschatter meet is a good one.
Newbie :)

It was Great and the Xmas Eve was Great as well

I remember going there when I was a child (I went a couple of times with the church, and once with the school I think).  That was back before the government (possibly on the behest of the European Union) brought in free admission to museums.
Great fun, especially when we went with the school.  They had one of the workers there done up like an Victorian teacher when we went in the schoolhouse...very eye-opening.  Loved the bakery thing too...haven't yet found anywhere that sells better barley sugars than there! :D

I went there several years ago and of the many things I've forgotten, that visit does remain very clear, it was such a smashing experience.  I too remember the bakery particularly, they had bread and cakes made from the flour and it was fantastic.  Also memorable was the weaving shed and being shown how the whole setup worked.  We had to pay then but it was well worth the money.
