My fathers name was Joseph and i got the female version of Josephine being his first child and my great Gran's name of Martha both as middle names then i married a man with a double barreled name so i now have technically speaking  five names. which should be fun adding to census forms giving the space.

I also had the bit about burning cakes

Which of course no kids probably know anything about these days...
I wonder what they actually teach them in schools now as regards history or geography.
It used to be fun stuff like ancient Britain, the Romans, Greeks, Vikings, Normans etc, but now it probably leans more towards India or other parts of the world, I wouldn't be surprised...

That was one of the best parts of my schooldays, ancient history and geography...
I don't think too many kids these days know much geography, well certainly in the USA they don't seem to, my daughter at 6 1/2 hasn't even seen a map or atlas in school, I don't think anyone in her class would know where America was on the globe even...  Is that sad or what...

I am researching the following families:
Hurst / Payne - Leicestershire / Warwickshire / Worcestershire
Toon(e) - Leicestershire
Batchelor / Foster - Warwickshire / Northamptonshire
Hardy - Dorset

My web site has the family tree showing.  I am researching primarily the Payne, Hurst, Foster and Batchelor lines in the Midlands.

How would you like to be stuck with Alfred

That would totally depend on if Alfred was tall, dark and handsome . . .. not to mention rich!!    ;)
