Hi Mike

I've checked the Wetheringsett cum Brockford parish records for you and I can only find one James around the date you mention - a James, son of Joseph and Mary Weavers, dated 4th July 1800. Could this be your guy? I checked baptisms 1801-1820 then worked my way backward from 1801 and found him. If yours, there are other children of a Joseph and Mary if you want the details.

I also checked for marriages from 1820 - 1841 but no James. I did find Joseph, John, Wiliam, Henry and Joseph though if those names are of any interest to you!

If you have any other info or want anything else looking up, let me know :)

1845 Edward Weavers, age 28, entry 570, buried Nov 25
1846 Dorothy Weavers of Brockford, age 83, entry 594, buried Nov 6

I also looked for the births of Mary Goddard and Mary Sharman but didn't find anything. Very few of either surname. I did find one marriage for Robert Goddard and Mary Soams, both single of Wetheringsett, married Nov 21 1752.

If the Joseph and Mary are ancestors of yours it looks like Joseph married twice and the 2nd wife was also a Mary. I wouldn't like to say which is the mother of James though as Joseph remarried 6 months before the baptism and there seem to be a lot of late baptisms in the records. Quite a few are baptised at a couple of years old.  I'll leave that to you to work out though aye  :-\

Hope that's some help to you. The Weavers seem to be a bit hit and miss in Wetheringsett, long gaps with no mention of them at all so I can only assume they moved around a bit or were mainly in a neighbouring parish.

I've written down all the Weavers I found in the periods mentioned - no Hubert sorry.

Good luck with your search. If you need anything else, let me know.

Cheers, Debbie
