 :) Hi ......I'm back ;D ;D Only trouble is i also found......

    Alice J Champ  Alderbury  O/N/D 1866  5a 180
    George Champ Alderbury J/A/S 1862 5a 179
    Sabina Champ Alderbury J/F/M 1865 5a 191

and seeing as Charles seems to have married Louisa Light  in Alderbury  The thing i am troubled about is that if they married in 1861 why their first child was born in 1869. That isnt usual with any of the families in such a tiny place. They seemed to start having their children straight away. But I'm leaning to them being Champ children not Smiths ???  Oh! and just to mix it all up a little....apparently Shirehampton comes into the Bristol area and i also found last night...

Rose Champ Married in Bristol Glous Dec 1893 6a 46

so that could be Rose who was shown as 17 in the 1891 in Shirehampton.. Maybe the Betsy who was shown as 2 in the 1871 died young and they are two completely different girls.....With all three of us on the case they surely cant stay hidden for long ;D

best wishes and take a deep breath, count to ten and between us we may be able to hold off the dreaded cost of those birth certificates. ;)

I am almost 100% sure that the Smith family is the Champ family! Either the Enumerater made a mistake or Charles was scared about someone finding him, perhaps he was an army deserter who knows! But on the 81 all the names and birth years of the Smith children fit with the names and birth years of the Champ children! Charles and Louisa married in 61 and the eldest child George was born in 62! On the 91 only Rosa and Charles are with their parents.... i have found marriages for George and Alice b4 the 91 census and perhaps Selina/Sabina and Rose are servants somewhere i haven't yet looked.

:o ....Oh my God!!!!how did you find them :o You see.....that far superior knowledge is just there...you dont even know you've got it ;D.....it's definately them isnt it. I wonder what the real reason is for them being described as Smiths? but l suppose its something that will  never be known. :-\
