can anyone hep re: james davies.  i have got info that james davies was living in oswaldtwistle, he married a kate wilkinson. i am more intrestrd in james i believe he came from chorley way. but married kate and had two children george and elizabeth.  do not know his father or mother, only seen a photograph, very handsome man, was born about 1860 ish, lived in thomas street, on census, but i would like to know who is relatives were

Hi Joan,

Could you tell us which census you have found him on as I`m confused - I know it doesn`t take a lot.  I found a James in the 1901 with children George and Elizabeth but his wife was a Susannah (maiden name I think was Wilkinson).  The information you have from this census would be appreciated and then we can probably track him back to his parents.

thank you so much, yes it was susannah, george was my grandfather, i think the kate was my grandads step sister.  James seems to be a very elusive charachter and i dont know what other relatives he may have had, with a name such as davies its as bad as smith to find, especially as it seems to be a welsh name too.  i really appreciate the help i have had from this site.
