1881 census request - by address
« on: Monday 23 February 04 13:13 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have a way of checking the 1881 census by address, rather than name?

I am looking for residents of Queen Street West, Stockport Cheshire in 1881.  Incomplete addresses were given on a marriage certificate later that year.

Alternatively if someone knows a name in that street, I can look backwards and forwards from that point.

Thanks.

Hi ,I have the 1881 census and if this is of any help,I looked up Stockport ,then tried the names you are researching.I came up with a Mary.C.Pickstone who was living at 7A Queen Street West. She was a domestic servant to a family headed by Kester C Harris.
The reference number for this info' is
 FHL1341833  PRO RG11 Piece3477 Folio 25  Page 1.
I hope you find what you are looking .
Regards celia
