Hi Billy

This looks to be the family in 1851 before Catherine was born:

Alexander B Donald, 25, school master, b. Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire
Marjory Donald, 29, b. Stonehouse, Kincardine
Alexander B Donald, 3, Aberdeen, Aberdeen
Marjory S Donald, 2, Aberdeen, Aberdeen
Robert K T Donald, 1, b. Stonehouse, Kincardine

Address: Schabl House (School ?), Lochlee, Angus

And, likely entry for Alexander and Marjorie's marriage banns from IGI, actual extracts from OPRs:

ALEXANDER DONALD  Marriage: 19 OCT 1846 Saint Nicholas, Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland/ Marriage: 11 OCT 1846 Fetteresso, Kincardine, Scotland
Spouse: MARJORY SMITH

Regards.

Billy

Moving on from 1851, I am less clear. Have you actually viewed the entry on SP for the 1855 birth of a Catherine Donald in Enzie to confirm it's your Catherine with those parents?

A couple of things don't fit. Firstly, there are these birth entries on IGI with a clash on births for 1855. To parents Alexander Beattie Donald and Marjor Smith:

1. CHARLES SMITH DONALD  Birth: 24 DEC 1855 Tradeston, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
2. ELIZABETH BEATTIE DUFFY DONALD Birth: 22 DEC 1859 Tradeston, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland

Next, the most likely 1861 Census entry with the family already in Glasgow, with a possibility that father Alexander Donald has just died (or is he just away from home?). The Catherine showing is born c. 1852 and in Lochlee:

Margory Donald, 40, sewer, b. Stonhaven, Kincardin
Alexander Donald, 13, message boy, b. Aberdeen, Aberdeen
Marjory Donald, 12, b. Aberdeen, Aberdeen
Catrine Donald, 9, b. Lochlee, Forfar
Agnes Donald, 7, b. Stonehaven, Kincardine
Charles Donald, 5, b. Glasgow
Elizabeth Donald, 1, b. Glasgow

Address: 10 1/2 Springfield Lane, Tradeston, Glasgow

The family in 1881:

Marjory Donald, widowed, 61, formerly Dressmaker, b. Stonehaven, Kirkardine
Marjory Donald, Engineer's wife, 32, b. Aberdeen, Aberdeen
Cath. B. Donald, 29, dressmaker, b. Lochlee, Angus
Thomas Donald, 25, Missionary, b. Glasgow (haven't seen any other ref. to him)
Eliza B. Donald, 21, dressmaker, b. Glasgow

Address: 114 Oxford St, Govan, Lanark, Scotland

And likely entry for this Marjory's death (the only one coming up on SP with these names, any age):

1884   DONALD   MARJORY/ SMITH   age 63   @ KELVIN, GLASGOW CITY/LANARK   GROS Ref: 644/09 0437

What was the age and occupation of Catherine in her 1883 Marriage to John Black. Were her parents showing as alive/dec.?

Regards.
