Which Registration District
« on: Sunday 03 December 06 01:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I have a William Swallow b Scotland who moved to Cumberland sometime between 1851-1861 (I have him on the Scottish 1851)

His youngest son was b Carlisle in the March quarter of 1853 and his christening is on the IGI on 8th May at St Mary's Carlisle

His wife Martha re-married in the December qtr 1860 so William died between the conception of William jnr (summer 1852) and 1860.  She and her new husband William Forster are living in Botchergate in 1861

I have searched the full GRO index between those years and although there are a lot of William Swallow deaths, none are in the Carlisle area or carry that registration district.

Apart from Carlisle - were there any other registration districts for the Cumberland area?
