Although this has been written Marcus it is possibly the family in the 1851 census, so it would make sense to be the grandfather who drowned, having the same name as the son.

John Thos Marcus Head Mar 29 Builder's Clerk Berks Windsor
Harriet Wife M 24 Berks Windsor
John Thos Son 2 " "

Hi all.
My excuse is that i am off ill, i am a nurse in need of nursing lol.
Had not seen that, yes must have been her grandfather, as it says on the death cert i have.
John Thomas Warcus male 41 years painter found dead Eight January 1864 River Thames Millbank. Drowning no evidence of how he came into the water. And that the inquest was held on the 15 January 1864.
So that would mean that there must have been a Son to the dead man who was Amy's father, which makes it more puzzling as to why i can't find them in the 1881 census.

Hmm. Not sure I understand your post?  ???

Do we agree on the fact that a man who dies in 1864 can't have fathered a child 9 years later?  :P

The Amy we have found through census seems to be the only possible match ... her father being a John Thomas born 1848. ..

Just check that Anny Marcus that Tati found at www.familysearch.org

If your Amy was born in Greenwich, Kent then that is the one and it has been mistrancribed

Just seen the birth on freebmd and I'm sure it is her.

Hi Tati
Yes i agree that it must have been the grandfather that died in the Thames. And the family found in the 1901 census is the one i am looking for.
