I think you are chasing shadows.    FreeBMD is only half of it too as the full version will have even more!   I have looked for a Richard and Caroline with son George in 1861 and not found one.     I think it needs a bit more rational thought!   I am cooking - we can both think while we are being domestic!

Whilst ironing I wondered.... You see the reason I like Caroline Webb on the 1881 census in Brid RG11 4799 21 37 for a mother in law, is that she is the only other Webb family in town - a widow and not from round those parts, she seems a good candidate.  Maybe to discount or confirm I should be asking if she can be found on the 1851 61 71.  Find Caroline when she is younger and married  - if she's married to a Richard then BINGO if not back to the drawing board?!

What do you think ?  George c 1855 could have been born anywhere, so narrowing him down is going to be tricky.

I did look for that combination in 1861 and didn't see oner with a George.

better concentrate on my daughters birthday today - hopefully I'll get some time over the christmas hols to do some research, am going to treat myself to some credits either with find my past or a little ancestry blast

still ironing, baking birthday cakes, trying to get christmas cards in the post etc etc

Love to be able to put the world on hold and concentrate on my dead people as my children call them

Caroline Webb, born Grimstead Essex, is married to William, a beer retailer, in 1871 so that line of research is probably out.
