Marriage.
« on: Wednesday 06 December 06 16:51 GMT (UK) »
I've had a lot of help via these pages tracing my uncle and family but have come to a halt.
Arthur Harry William Savage born 1912 Melbourne joined the army in 1942 and his next of kin is Vivienne Savage.
I can find no record of his marriage, have tried www.bdm.nsw.gov.au. but no luck.
Anywhere else I should be looking.
Regards Peter. :)

You may need more information [if you have it]
However, looking at your reference to the ww2 site, I see a couple of clues
He was living in Canberra when he enlisted and the place where he enlisted was Canberra.
Also I note that in the Army he was a Sergeant with a job connected with filing.
i am wondering whether some of his life events were in Canberra.
Just a thought.
ACT's bmd info is scant to put it kindly.
There is a death index up to 1975. PDF format and so no index!! Not much info given either.

Thanks for your reply Sue but I have no more info.
The fact that his next of kin when he enlisted in the army is Vivienne Savage in 1942 shows he was married but I'm unable to find any trace of the marriage.
This brother who enlisted in 1940 I have found his marriage.
Regards.
Peter.

Hi
Have you requested a full service history?
It seems that the enlistment reference is your srongest lead at present and it willl give you further personal information about him.
The process for doing this in on the ww2 nominal site.
