Selvanus Willis

Hi,
I'm trying to track down my Mums's uncle, born whilst living at
Lily View, Church Street, Jump, Wombwell near Barnsley.
Born in 1905.
Selvanus was my Grandad's twin (he died in 1967).
His mothers name was Clara Galsworthy and father was Harry Willis.
I have no idea if he went off to war and didn't return, we have no knowledge of him and there are no death records that I can find.

I wondered if there was a list of names from memorials in the area or if anybody has any ideas or information.
Or perhaps where else I could go for information?

Any help would be appreciated.

Well .. I found Selvanus in the births ..... which you probably already have ..... but I didn't see anybody close by that could have been a twin ...... ( of course I assumed ( ? ) that they would have names similar ..... !! )

Can you tell us anything else about him ?? with a name like Selvanus - maybe he changed it if he went into the Forces ..... tell us as much as you know and let's see if somebody can help you

Hi Annie,
Yes I have the birth details, his twin Harry is there too.
Born 4th January 1905 to Harry and Clara Willis (Nee Galsworthy).

Harry was a Sergeant in the army RASC and served in Tunisia and Egypt
He was awarded the military medal for being wounded under enemy fire
and was blinded in one eye.
He died in 1967.
There was another brother William Irving Willis but don't know much more.
