Its spam.  A slightly more sophisticated spam than most, but its still spam. I still worry about how these spammers actually manage to tap into your computer or email or postings and get things like those significant names, but they do, and then you get what is basically advertising junkmail from them - but junkmail that is a wee bit more attractive than just sending out a more general ancestry link for you to follow and purchase their product.

I've had one too and I ignored it, I don't find GR that sophisticated.  I just laughed when I read that they had found one of my relatives on the 1901.  Haha I found that one years ago!!!!!!

I did get the email and am prepared to wait to see what happens with this new development wth GR.
So far I have been very satisfied with my two year subscription .......... but do get somewhat concerned when what appears to be a commercial interest evolving.

have had 2 of this type of email over the last couple of weeks.
both "matches" on the 1901  england and wales census
can't be matches at all because both rellies were born and died in
ireland .wonder why they did'nt find a match for the other rellies who did live in or travelled to england and wales. ???

When they find my William and Winifred Carter in 1901 then I will be impressed - no they are not the couple who immediately pop up, they just happen to have the same name and live in the same area ???

Doh! another annoying thing that gets you all excited only to turn into another scam.

I've had one of these e-mails too. I've had a few spam e-mail recently and took this to be the same as it was out of the ordinary.

This should be another thread, but I have also had 3 e-mails from Geneanet.org saying it is a reply to a forum I'm supposed to be part of. In the email there are about 50 at least, other web addresses for various things. I hate to think what for  :o. So I've delete the mail and hope they move on.
