All this info is brill-many of them are in my family-and have lots to "play" with.
Family from 1871-Ann thornhill, Artha etc-Willian 9 in that family is my grandfather!I cannot find any trace of Artha after 1881-his mother Hannah had died before 1881 and father Richard had 6 more children with Eliza(they married after their 3rd child was born-but they moved to Leeds about 1883-and as far as I know didn't take any of the children from Richard's first marriage.
1871 Lodger Thomas Stobbs married Mary Thornhill (of familty he lodged with) and moved to Sheffield.
Lots more are in my tree. Interesting that Shipley is in Notts on that census-as Shipley is in Derbyshire.
George thornhill living with Elizabeth Bills interesting.
I have a George Thornhill who never married and at some time lived with his sister Elizabeth Rice-must check out his birth-see if its same one!

Keep on telling fibs-its great-this line is the line I have most info on-but you are filling in some gaps for me.
The ARTHUR in walsall-tailor is a possibility-as my ARTHURwas b. 1970-does the census give his birthplace-on other census it is given as Eastwood Notts, but he did live in Shipley Derbys until age 11(siblings born Shipley )Gonna check marriage of Arthur/Thirza -see where that took place.
