The Times, Thursday 18 March 1886
Obituary
...
The death is announced of the Rev. Charles Povah, an active member of the Wesleyan General Chapel Committee whose head offices are at Manchester. Deceased was born in 1816. Though he had been placed on the list of supernumery preachers some years ago, he continued to officiate minsterially till within a few weeks of his death. Mr. Povah was the author of "A Handy Digest of Wesleyan Rules and Usages, containing the Laws and Regulations of the Wesleyan Conference. Compiled from the printed Minutes of the Conference." This work is generally recognised by the Wesleyan body as a careful and authoritative statement of Wesleyan polity. Mr. Povah also published, in 1873, "The Organisation of Good Templarism, From official documents."

Hi Keith
Thankyou it is very kind of you, but i have just got started on this side of the Povah family, and really don't know who i am looking for yet, but if you have time if you could try and find Charles born abt 1817 to see if Charles Povah and Ann Taylor are his parents if he had any brother's or sister's.
But really if you have the time i would be greatfull for any info on the Povah family as i am sure they will all fit the jigsaw at some stage of the game.
Thanks again for your time and help
                     Regards Sue  :)
