This is a difficult one as there are several Pearson families in Bilston/Wolverhampton area and at least two have a Lucy born c 1839/40   In 1841 there is this family HO107/1001/2 F36 p21 Salop Row Bilston
Joseph Pearson age 30 forgeman  not born county
Maria 30 not born county
Edward 10
Mary 8
Sarah 6
Hannah 4
Lucy 2 all b in county
However in 1851 that family do not have a Lucy.  She may be elsewhere or she may have died.
There is also a family with father George Pearson who have a Lucy age 2 in 1841.
I think you should get onto ancestry and check all the marriages for a Lucy Pearson.    As she is down as married in 1861 and John is 3 on that census I should start from 1856ish and hope that a Thomas will cross check it.   I saw the one for Samuel on FreeBMD but that may be a red herring.   It might be worth trying to get a birth certificate for John - or at least find a baptism.
By 1881 it is highly likely that John & Emma are married  and William may be working elsewhere.
Have fun!

In 1871 RG10 2952 F91 p4 it definitely says Allen, son, age 2 not Ellen daughter and there is a birth in Wolverhampton at about the right time.    There are two couples in Bilston in 1871 called William and Lucy Thomas.     Only one William is born in Wales though.   I do think it says Wrighton, Wales in 1881.  The W is exactly the same as the one above it in Wolverhampton.

It may not be transcribed on freeCen yet.  The 1871 children are the ones I quoted earlier.  William just says born Wales.
