I have before me his South African three bar medal.
The top bar has South Africa 1901.
Middle bar: Wittebergen
Lower bar: Cape Colony
The inscription on the medals rim is:
2120 Pte I. Spinks 2nd RL W. West Kent REGI.
On a side note,its always been a bit of a family mystery how a man who was born in Northamptonshire, raised in Suffolk, lived his adult life in Essex ended up in the Royal West Kent's?
