1881 lookup please - Cranston/e

Hi

I wonder if it is possible to look up a family that may have ben in Scotland in 1881 please?

I ask because of family stories handed down saying that they once owned a shop or a hotel somewhere in Scotland and we have treid allsots of ways of finding them in the 1881 Uk census but to no avail, so were they in Scotland?

They are

George Cranston/e born 1844 in Hammersmith/Kensington - Head/father/husband
Sarah  (wife - born c. 1849 - Hammersmith
Maud - daughter - born 1876 - Hammersmith

George was a bricklayer.
