2nd Quarter 1889 Marriage Wokingham
« on: Tuesday 12 December 06 18:59 GMT (UK) »
Could some kind soul please lookup the parish registers for Wargrave St Mary - the marriage of Ellen Matilda Martindale to (I think) Thomas Herbert.

I want to check if Ellen M is the daughter of Jesse and Lucy Martindale.

Very many thanks

Hi Grundy,

Not sure if this will help but I've found a Jesse and Lucy Martindale on 1881 census living in Wargrave with  daughter Ellen 16 (dressmaker) and son Walter 5.

Jesse is shown as a gardener.

Thank you Nanny Jan and Jacquelineve

Both the facts you have given are correct.

Its this 1889 marriage that I need to find out about.

I am given to believe that Ellen Matilda Martindale married Thomas Batt, an 1887 birth certificate for their daughter suggests as much.

But this is first marriage that I have traced for her - surely it too much of a coincidence - thus my request for parish record info.

Thanks again
