county court records / William Gilbert Stamford

Hi

My Mother is 84 and she has been trying to trace her Father - William Gilbert Stamford. William was married to Jessie Victoria Bray, they had 2 children and their marriage broke up around the time my Mother was born in 1922, in Jarrow. Jessie took William to court as he was not paying maintenance for their 2 children, Ernest and my my Mother - Moira Constance Stamford.

The court case was likely to have been in South Shields between 1922 and 1925 and we are trying to find out more details of the case, especially where William was living at the time - we think it was in West Derby, near Liverpool. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it as we are trying to find out what happened to William Gilbert Stamford, we know he was in the Royal Navy up until 1922 when my Mother was born. If anyone knows where we might find the court records we would be really grateful.

Anne
