Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: Wednesday 13 December 06 08:56 GMT (UK) »
Hi Folks

I am currently researching my family history who original came from the Manchester (Gorton) area and many descendants may still reside in the area.

My grandparents were William & Mary Bailey and were registered as living at 31 Kirk Street, Gorton in the 1901 Census.

They had six children:
Albert
Jean
George
Jessie
Daniel
Alan.

Any information ad help regarding my descendants from the Bailey family would be greatly appreciated.

I can be contacted direct at Moderator comment: email address removed to prevent spam and other abuses, please use the personal message system to exchange details, thanks

Many thanks

 :D

Hi

I have no information where he was born but his full name was: Daniel Percy William Bailey.

He was ten in 1901.

Best regards

Trouble is there are about 200 Baileys in northwest phone book...not checked manchester centre..
I think the first thing i would do is to look if any of the boys were killed in WW1   www.cwgc.org     That would list next of kin. then id trawl through marriages after 1911 or when they would be 21...and then look for births with a mum with that maiden name (after that date, which is handy cos thats when they started putting mums maiden name ) .
www.ancestry.co.uk have free indexes (GRO as well as freebmd ones)
always dificult working forwards.....
hope that helps
