Cellars, Liverpool
« on: Thursday 14 December 06 13:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

Just found one of my ancestors in the 1841 census and the address is given as Cellars, Liverpool. This has been transcribed by www.rootsuk.com website. Has anyone else come across with an address similair to this, I know people lived in cellars but even they must have had a street name?? any ideas.

Hi Alan G,

Would you happen to have his name and the complete reference, so that we can check if there's any other clue ?

Hi Tanja

Thanks for the quick reply.

His name is Cornelius Gillison, but they have both him and his wife Ellen down as Gilligan, with Folio Ref: H0107/0555/12/~F7

Thank again for the help.

Hi Tanja & Pels

No Problem! I've been searching for Cornelius for years, I have his marriage to Ellen Bate in St Helens in 1787, all his 8 children born between 1792 ~ 1812 in Liverpool, his Death in 1845 in Liverpool at the age of 77 years. I just can't find where & whom he was born too etc. I'll just keep trawling on.

Cheers

Alan G.

It's in the Dale Street area - seems to be a series of low rise buildings with cellars - possibly Parker Place (?)
