My grandmother was FANNY ELIZABETH EMILY HARBOUR, born 1/7/1898 in Peterborough to Christopher and Maria Elizabeth HARBOUR.  She was known as Frances throughout her life.  She died in 1973.

Her eldest brother BERTIE JOHN THOMAS HARBOUR was born in February 1897.
Maria Harbour's parents were JOHN and FANNY RICHARDS.

I am afraid the Frances Harbour you are tracing, that married into the Sharp family, is not the same one whose details have been listed above.

I can't offer help with tracing your FRANCES HARBOUR, but can assure you that there were two in the Peterborough area.

Sorry to disappoint and all that.

I have seen the birth Caroline Frances..and she is Caroline Frances in 1901 just above Frances C..
They are all in the same area of Peterborough as well.

We certainly seem to have traced the person (Frances C) that YOGIBEAR (last online 8pm Dec 18th) requested ...

Carole is pointing out that another Ms Harbour married Mr Sharp in 1917 .... if I read it correctly.

Altho the brother Bertie uniquely IDs the Frances, theres something strange still - Carole indicates that other christian names were Elizabeth Emily ....

A birth Cert sounds like a good idea !

And probably better, the 1917 Marriage Cert to trace back the Father of the Ms Harbour marrying Mr Sharp ...

Hi tazzie and Newfy

Just to clarify my earlier post.

I have my grandmothers Birth Certificate in front of me.  Her birth name was FANNY ELIZABETH EMILY HARBOUR.  Her parents are CHRISTOPHER and MARIA ELIZABETH (nee RICHARDS).

She was known as Frances throughout her life - and her name given on her Marriage Certificate in 1928 is FRANCES ELIZABETH EMILY HARBOUR.  Again on this Certificate her father is stated as CHRISTOPHER HARBOUR (deceased - He died in 1923).

On the 1901 Census she is listed as being with her Grandparents, JOHN AND FANNY RICHARDS along with her older brother BERTIE JOHN THOMAS HARBOUR.
The confusion as I see it, comes in with the Census record.  It certainly looks as though is reads Frances C Harbour, but she was known as Frances E.

As tazzie has noted, the Caroline Frances Harbour that the OP was searching for, is shown as being aged 2, living with her Mother, Emma Harbour in Peterborough - and her father was Stephen Harbour 'not at home'.

Interestingly, my Grandmothers birth and that of Caroline Frances Harbour are registerred in the same quarter in 1898, both in Peterborough.

Does this make sense?
