Pretoria Pit 1910 explosion
« on: Monday 18 December 06 07:09 GMT (UK) »
As far as I am aware of I do not have an ancestor in this pit dissaster that happened in Lancashire with a loss of 344 men and boys.

It is well worth a read.

I'd already found that four of my relatives died there. A huge disaster, which was still talked about when my mother was a child a quarter of a century later.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.
