Hello Edo
I will see what I can find about Julia and family. I have quite a lot about Jersey Hansfords as my grandmother was a Dorset Hansford. So far I have not found a connection between her family and the Jersey clan.

Hello Edo
I have found the following info for Julie Goillon
Christened on Oct 23 1805 at St Helier's Parish Church. Julie Goillan (sic) daughter of Jacques and Jeanne Guion (mother's maiden name)
Godparents:- Francois Jaffrey & Judith Labey.

Jacques and Jeanne had seven other children whose christenenings were at St.Saviour.
July 19 1807  Mary Jane M
Godparents:-Jean Binet & Melany La Croix

Oct 30 1808 Nancy Caroline
G.P's Daniel Gallienne, Judith Le Quesne & Caroline Dumaresq

This Nancy was buried at St.Helier on Apr 11 1812

Apr 15 1810 Jeanne Rachel
G.P's Francois Le Sueur & Rachel Le Sueur (probably they were brother & sister as wives kept their maiden names)

Jan 17 1813 Nancy Caroline (2)
G.P's Josue Graut & Anne Gallichan, his wife

Feb 12 1815 Francoise Marie
G.P's Jacques Aubin & Marie Aubin

July 7 1816 Jacques
G\P's Edouard Laffolet & Marie Mahy

Apr 19 1818 Pierre Julian
G.P's Jacques Brunet & Julie Goillon (? his sister)

Could not find marriage record for Jacques Goillon & Jeaane Guoin (or Guyon)
Jacques was possibly from France.
He was buried at St.Saviour on Aug 1 1819 aged 45yrs. A record is attached saying -Catholique Francois.
Could not find a burial record for Jeanne Guyon

Marriages at St.Saviour
Dec 19 1837 Nancy Goillon & Jean Amy of Trinity

Dec 25 1841 Peter Julien & Nancy Duval

(I think this Nancy was still alive in 1901)

Marriages at St.Helier

Sep 3 1828 Marie Goillon & Francois Le Boutillier of St.Saviour

Dec 17 1831 Jane Rachel Goillon & Thomas Binet

There was a census done by the governor at that time, General Don, with a view to assessing how many were available to fight if France attacked.

Jacques Gouillon (sic) is recorded as living at Vingtaine de la Petite Longueville with 1 female over 16, 1 boy under 16 & 1 girl under 16.
The female & girl are probably his wife, Jeanne & dau Julie. No idea who the boy was as there are no other names listed and I have not found a son older than Julie.

Jeanne possibly had two brothers Jean & Charles but have not found anything more definite about this family.

A Jeanne Guoin is recorded as having married Edouard Laffolet in 1799. Whether this a first marriage for Julie's mother I do not know.
When I get time I will try to see what else I can find.
All for now. Best wishes. Grace

Hello Edo
Do you know where John Hansford, husband of Julie Goillon came from. Censuses say England but do you know which part?
Best wishes
Grace

Good morning Grace,

No, I don't have the information on his birth or his parents.

John and Julia married in St Helier on 3 Apr 1828 and their children were born there as well.

Sorry, can't help further.

Would appreciate information if/when you find out.

Regards

Grace,

John Hansford, husband of Julia Goillon, was born in Askerswell, Dorset, in 1804.  Does anyone know where and when Jane Marrette, Julia's mother, was born?
