Jane Ellen do Daur 1 Settle Yorks

Address 1 Vicarage Place, Burnley

RedFox. I am not totally sure about this in view of the stated birthplace for Thomas H Harris but the other facts all seem to fit. Also I cannot see another Thomas Harris, of the right age, born in Plymouth on earlier censuses so it could well be him ?

1901

John Thomas (born c1879) is still living with his parents in Burnley but I cannot see Elizabeth Ann or Rosina on the 1901 census.

1896 Burnley AMJ quarter 8e 411 (available on FreeBMD)

I think that Elizabeth Ann Harris may have married William Miller (but only by elimination of the other two names listed, who appear together on the 1901 census).

1899 Burnley OND quarter 8e 373 (available on FreeBMD)

I think that this is the marriage of Rosina but I cannot see any of the named people on the 1901 census so it is not possible from the information available to work out the most likely husband.

Sorry that this is not very helpful but I hope that there may be something of use to you in the earlier entries.

Best wishes

Hi DS.  Many thanks for helping me with breakthroughs three days in a row!  Much of what you have on John Harris and Jane Dawe Harris' family is new to me, but I had a few nuggets.  I did have Joseph J.' wife -Esther Ann West - not sure where I found that; maybe FreeBMD.
That source can be so helpful, yet so frustrating.  I agree with you -- the marriage (and subsequent info) you have for Thomas Henry Harris might not be the right one.  I have him born in Cornwall, but most of the family traveled to Yorkshire about the mid-1870's, so a Devon birth is a definite possibility.  I've wanted to trace their travels, so maybe this is a start.

I see what you mean about the girls' marriages.  Without other documentation (like a census record), you don't know which man is the right one.  My Ancestry.com subscription has lapsed, so I'll have to spend some time at the library (they have their own subscription).  Now I have enough info to make my inquiries worth a trip.

Many thanks for all you hard work.  This will give me a fesh start in the new year.  Happy Holidays to you and yours.  Hope you have good luck in your own research.   RedFox    :) :) :)
