Foresters Juvenile Society - Brighton - 1871
« on: Friday 22 December 06 17:29 GMT (UK) »
Please can anyone help me.  One of my husbands ancestors was a member of the Foresters Juvenile Soceity - Brighton.  We have a photocopy of a certificate dated June 187l saying that A J Every was admitted as a member.  A J Every was about 9 years old at the time.  I am sure that it was a Masonic Society, but would greatly appreciate it if anyone out there could give me any further information.  I have tried googling but not had much info back.
Willard - Salehurst/Ewhurst      -      Every - Lewes, Brighton
Weeks - Mayfield/ St Leonards  -    Crouch-Bufford - Hurst Green
Sims  -  Hastings/Fairlight

The Independent Order of Foresters are a society in their own right; I don't think they have any connection with Freemasonry.

Have you looked for a Brighton section of the IOF to contact or failing that contact the head office of the IOF to see if they could help.  I'm sure they'd be interested in the certificate.
