To all those who offered assistance on this thread may I say thanks and for anyone else who finds it while looking for Red Villa Wrexham I have now found it.  It is Rhyd Fiddir, in Abenbury.   Red Wither Road Wrexham.  Elizabeth Taylor James's widow was living there in 1851 and owned her own house.  Wonder if it is still standing.  Google earth isn't clear in this area, probably something sensitive there.  Red Wither, Red Witha or Red Vider all appear to be corruptions of the same place.

HI Heather
Thanks for that link.  The picture is superb, unfortunately it looks like the old homestead has gone under the factory units.  There doesn't seem to be any old buildings left.  What a shame.  Still, I am grateful to you for sending me that link, I shall 'favourite' it.

Red Withers Inn, I can remember that this was converted from an old property about 30/35 years ago, .

On the 1838 tithe map for Abenbury Fawr, plan   No 249 is a house and garden owned by James Taylor. Just under 1 acre.

Shall we all meet up there and investigate further  ;D ;D ;D

Hi Lidgett,

I'm new to rootschat, and was really surprised to find someone else also researching James and Elizabeth Taylor, of Rhyd Fiddir (that was alot of fun working that one out, lol). My relation is John Taylor (b. 1839), son of Mary(b. 1821,youngest Mary of James and Elizabeth), not sure about a father for John? Your X2 GGrandma, Maria, is my X3 G Aunt.  Only just begun to research my family tree, really pleased how much i've found already. :)

I know this is an old post, but I`ve started helping a friend who`s mother was a Taylor.

Working backwards I `ve realised this is the same line.
I did find quite a lot for Lidgett, but have lost all our emails and details .
Can she and Dottie contact me please . PM.
