Need help finding more info on Robert Shard...........

I need help trying to find the records of Robert Shard born 1884 in Widnes, I have downloaded his service records from the National Archives, but the info I wanted wasn't on.......
I was hoping it would tell me his next of kin and the person who signed for him to join, seeing as he was only 16yrs old, for the first two years of his Navy Career, he was on the Caledonia, in the 1901 census he was in Scotland on this ship.....
is there anywhere I can get hold of his full records showing his next of kin of his parents.............?

Hi Carol,
             please don't think I'm being finicky,but the only Robert I can find born around that Time is in Bury 1883.

Hi to you both,
the one you found does have a mother born Widnes... but in 1901 she is born Radcliffe!

Robert Henry Shard born 1883 Bury was cousin to the Robert I'm looking for..........
Robert Henry's mother was Annie Ashworth she married William Shard in 1882, Robert Hy was actually born Dec 1882..

I'm told Robert was brought up on a farm, with family...but no sign of the Shards being farmers  LOL
I hear that some workhouses for younger people were often called Farm Schools, does anyone know if I'm on the right track with this.........

                   I saw that marriage of Wiliam's(but I thought it was to Hannah) I was trying to work out who could have been Roberts Parents,using free  BMD ??? ???
