What are the odds?
« on: Thursday 18 November 04 10:21 GMT (UK) »
I've been trying to find information on a couple who lived the latter part of their lives in Salford, but beyond their names (Charles Scott and Ethel Walker) and the date of their son's birth I have very little to go on - can't find a record of their marriage, or their deaths.  Then someone mentioned that there were Breakspear cousins i.e. a sister of Charles married a Breakspear.  So I trawl for a marriage between a Scott and a Breakspear in a reasonable time frame, and find one - 1914.  The trouble is, it was in Oxford.  No one knows of any connection with Oxford, though I know there were a lot of Breakspears in the area.  Now, the point of this ramble is a) what are the odds on another marriage between a Scott and a Breakspear in the early years of the 20th century? and b) can anyone provide any information on this family?
