Any ideas /help please.....
« on: Friday 29 December 06 12:03 GMT (UK) »

Hi all...well I have hit that wall with this one so I thought if I put down everything I have someone may have some ideas...

I have the wedding certificate for my great grandparents...

Albert Green married Elizabeth Underwood in Leighton Buzzard 11Dec 1904 in the registery office.

His age is 19 so b @1885  hers 20.
Her father is David deceased a carpenter
His father is John deceased a hay binder.

I can trace all of Elizabeth family back another 3 generations..BUT...
I am stuck with Albert's father John...Alberts address is given as just Leighton Buzzard ..no street no clues!

So whats the best way to come up with the right John & son Albert?

Any ideas or am I being dense with this one?

1881 isn't so very far from 1885.
Search that index for david green, Carpenter to come up with possibles?

Hi tazzie,

A difficult one.  Where was grandad born?  There are a couple of refs on the GRO for possible deaths:

Albert GREEN Sep 1909 aged 25 Brighton 2b 108
Albert GREEN Mar 1910 aged 24 Hendon 3a 112

If you are able to get the right certificate it may give you a useful informant (or not!) or confirm his age.

 Hi Jean...

Grandad was born Leighton Buzzard 1907.

I also found those to deaths there is an Albert Green b Brighton 1885 so that could be one of them. That would leave the Hendon one.  Possible I suppose. Grandad always said he died on the railway so might be worth sending off for that one to see cause of death.

                   Thanks

Hi Tazzie,

Did he die in accident on the railway?  If so the local papers might have information and/or a coroners report.  It could give you another clue to which death cert is correct.
