 Hi ....

Just to say many thanks to you all for the ideas for Albert...I HAVE FOUND HIM!

Yes the 1910 death Q1 Hendon is him. I have found his burial in Leighton Buzzard on 7 Feb 1910 and a report from the local paper of 8 Feb 1910.
He died age 24 the result of being hit by the Tring express at Harrow station...A station I have passed through many many times. He left his wife and three young children under 4 and one on the way.
It also listed those who attened his funeral including Mrs Millard his mother.
Newfy has found them as Millard in 1901 and Miller in 1891.
He states on the wedding cert to Elizabeth that his father is John Green ...but... it would appear to be John Miller/Millard who is the father as John Green died  long before Albert was born.

A sad moment as I read the report ,happy I had found him, sad too for how my grandad must have felt as a small child of 3 the age of my own son now.
Went straight to the cemetery to look for the grave but it is unmarked.
We are going to contact them on Monday to find out where it is exactly and will put some flowers there.

So thanks again...it kept me plugging away and we have a result ;D

Hi Tazzie

How sad  :'(

That is a lovely thing to do placing flowers at his resting place.

I hope you will record it by taking a photograph and maybe have some way of showing where it is.

When I try and transcribe graveyards I always take row shots so if I have blurred
images (which amount to a few some times) I can always find the grave again easily
by the other gravestones.

Wonder where they will be in 1911 hopefully not the workhouse.

Sandy  :)

Hi Sandy....no this all has a happy ending....

When Albert died he left 3 small boys under 4 and a baby on the way. Elizabeth arrived safely in Q2 1910. Bestey(the widow ) remarries Sidney Simpson in Q1 1911 and they have a further 3 children.
Sidney himself was left a widower when his wife died having twins, one died at birth the other I have yet to find.
All of the children reached their late 70's or 80's there are only two left now both widows who married brothers.
Big extended family ...remember popping in and out of their houses when very little.

Now we can have a very happy ending as mum has puzzled over this one for ages and me for about 4 years. We had been told what had happened but the dates were all wrong but found it now.
