Hi Chris - many thanks you have come up trumps once again.

Yes - this has defintely helped as I have a death certificate for George's wife who died at 16 Merridale St. so this confirms what I have to date.

I see from your message that the 1891 census is on-line?   I didn't realise that - I thought only 1881 and 1901 were on line, and that the other census' information had to be obtained from purchased CDs.     Is there an on line site that I can contact for 1891 or any other years?

Glad it is the correct family

The 1891 census and some of the 1871 is on line through

www.Ancestry.com

but it is a subscription site - it costs about 30 something quid per quarter and 70 something quid per year for a subscription to the British and Welsh census returns only.

Incidentally, I wrote Berridale, you wrote Merridale ?

Hi again -  thanks for the site information - I'll have to give that a bit of thought - seems a bit expensive.  At the moment I seem to be spending a fortune on bd & m certificates - most of which I think, so far, are the correct ones.

Yes, I did notice the different address - one of which could have been incorrectly written - the death cert. definitely says Merridale - and the wife of George Jeavons , Tin plate worker - so must be the same family.
