Fitsmmons - Dunddee Lookup

Hi sorry to trouble but does anybody mind having a look at the following for me

James FITSMMONS -head
Ann (nee QUIGLY) - Wife
Rose Ann FITSMMMONS - Daughter born 1900

Rose Ann married in 17 July 1919 at St Clement, Dunddee.

I know nothing about Rose Ann parents James and Ann if any body could find a census return or there marriage details i would very much appricate it.

Hi UltraRookie,

I did a quick search on ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk and found only one marriage between a James Fitzsimmons and Ann Quigly in Scotland between 1855 and 1900. I narrowed down to 1899.  I initally tried Dundee and the Angus as the location but there were no returns. Unfortunately, I don't have any credits at the moment to look at the details.

Hi Vinnie,

This is really strange I just checked Scotlands People and cant find a marriage at all for this couple anywhere in Scotland.  I also can't find the birth of the daughter Mary Ann in 1900 either.
However I did find the birth of a child Mary Ann Fitzsimmons on Scotlands People 1901 in Fife.  Fife is just a few miles across the river from Dundee.  Information below but I don't know if this is yours or not.

1 1901 FITZSIMMONS ROSE ANN F BALLINGRY /FIFE 408/00 0182

Can you tell me if you have the correct spelling of the name please??

I put in Fitzsimmons and Quigly, is this correct.

Ok Vinnie,

At long last I have found the birth Of Mary Ann Fitzsimmons. It was on November 7th 1901 at 5 minutes past midnight in the family home at 54 Main Street Lumnphinnans, Ballingry, Fife.

And this was the real problem the Parents were:-
Father --- James Fitzsimmons
Mother--- Annie Fitzsimmons Maiden name Quighley. (note the spelling!!!!!)

The parents married on December 18th 1899 in Dalkeith.

Think this is all the information you need!!

p.s. as Mary Ann was born in November 1901 she wouldn't be in the 1901 census!!

Hi,

As I was unsure of the spelling of James and Ann's surname I used the Soundex option when searching for the marriage.  I found it quite quickly then.
