From his death certificate Joseph Froude Woodroffe died in Twickenham, Middlesex on 12th August 1947. From the local library today I was told of a death notice in the local paper.
This begins WOODROFFE - On Augsust 12th 1947 Major Joseph Froude Woodroffe of 49, Derwent Road etc . . . . .
Is it possible whether when he did in 1947 he actually did hold this rank in the Army or was it all in the mind? His death certificate records his occupation as ' Assistant Superintendent (Ministry of Works)'
