Look up please - James Beere
« on: Monday 01 January 07 10:10 GMT (UK) »
Can someone help please?  I am looking for James Beere born around 1790 (probably in the Isle of Wight).   He married Hannah Chessel born 8 February 1795 Shalfleet, Isle of Wight.

I am looking for the birth date of James Beere and the date of his  marriage to Hannah.

many thanks,
marp

Hi marp,

The couple married in Shalfleet:

21 Oct 1820 James Beere, bach of Shalfleet & Hannah Chessell, sp of Shalfleet.

James was not baptised in Shalfleet.  In 1851 his place of birth is given as Thorley and he was apparently 61.

Hannah died in 1860.  James died in 1868.

Thanks for the information on the marriage date for James Beere and Hannah Chessel.

However, in your second posting you state Hannah died in 1860.  This seems unlikely as I have found her on the 1871 census for Shalfleet (district 3).  I have now had a quick look at Free BMD and that indicates 1880.

I am still interested in tracking the birth/baptismal date for James Beere who was born in Thorley.

thanks, marp

My mistake - the Hannah Beere who died in the same district in 1860 was aged 75, not 65.  A relation to James maybe?

Can't help with the baptism and unfortunately not included on the IGI  :(
