JONES, Rose Anna 1841 1851 1861 1871
« on: Tuesday 02 January 07 19:40 GMT (UK) »
Hello List,

As a result of finding some more clues to my JONES family on the London Gazettes online website, I am wondering if someone could look them up in the early censuses for me.

Rose Anna JONES b abt 1840 St Peters CMN
Mary JONES b abt 1832            "

Father is Thomas JONES b abt 1807 Swansea GLA- he was a confectioner. They lived at 3 Queen St CMN in the 1870's at least.

Many thanks

Jocelyn

Wow! many thanks for these look ups - I think the wife must have been Jane DAVIES- I found Mary and James on IGI that match the 2 in 1851...Thomas was a widow in 1881.

Its strange that 1851 and 1861 say Thomas was born CMN - in 1881 he says Swansea GLA!

I am hoping for a connection with John Myrddin JONES b abt 1850 - he was living with Thomas in the 1870's. John's father was Evan JONES - a draper but as yet, cannot trace anything else. John married Marianne  Eynon SAIES of Tenby, PEM, but he died young- he was alternatively a confectioner and a ship broker!

Thanks so much for all this

Cheers
Jocelyn

Fabulous clues!

Thank you so much for this

It is quite amazing how we manage to sort out the JONES families- just the tiniest clue is all that is often needed!

I am now wondering if Jane JONES was Evan JONES' sister..which may explain why John Myrddin JONES was living with them in the 1870's.....it would be so good to find John in a census! He died before 1881- about 1878 in  Tenby PEM

Many thanks again for all your help.

Kind regards

Jocelyn

hi again,

I am just wondering if Rose Anna JONES shows up in 1871- she was still alive in 1901, living on her own means.

Thanks again
