WISE family: Newington Kent

Hi All,

Just registering my interest in the WISE family. I have a Henry WISE born c1830 who specified Newington, Kent as his birthplace on the 1861 census. He was a seaman and painter who moved up to the North East where he married Mary Robinson.

His father was William WISE, a farrier, presumably also from Kent.

What a surprise to see your Wise thread......I have all the info which has been messaged to you,,Have been chasing the Wise connection for 2/3 years ..

Emily Jane Wise was my gt/grandmother , she too moved to the northeast after marrying Edward Hill ..Their son , Harold Hill was also a talented painter..

Am still trying to find death of William Wise after 41 census..

I was PMed by a second kind soul who also looked up the Newington registers; it appears that the 1836 baptism of William Wise is in the Newington registers as well, though they didn't provide the exact date.
