Matthew Hawkins is my 6x great grandfather.

these are the notes I have in my files for him. maybe someone can make greater sense of them than I have succeeded in doing via long distance research.

there is a William and Priscilla Hawkins of Coggeshall who have 3 children recorded in the Essex yearly meeting vital record index.
although Matthew is not listed among these children, if William was alive in 1686, then it is possible that they are my Matthew's parents. however, the last child listed for William and Priscilla, Will Hawkins, was b. in 1672. more research is needed, and it may be that these are not Matthew's parents.
the reason I have placed a Priscilla for Matthew's mother is that a Priscilla Hawkins, Sr. is listed on his marriage record. this could be wrong, I don't know.

unfortunately I do not at this time have any Jeffries connections.

this is fantastic information. it doesn't include my two Quaker marriages of Matthew Hawkins to Hannah Gage m. 8 May 1708 (old calender), Colchester and Hannah Hawkins to Edmond Cross m. 25 Nov 1736 (old calender), Colchester, so I don't know how helpful it may be to me...are these CofE? if so, there may be no connection, or maybe the connections are collateral...the list may be of great help to someone else, which is good.
Matthew was b. abt 1686 of Colchester, Hannah Gage b. abt 1689. they could have been born earlier, I don't know. Hannah Hawkins was b. 26 Jan 1709, Colchester. she had two brothers, both named Matthew and both died in infancy.
