Thomas and Elizabeth PRATT-HARSTON
« on: Wednesday 03 January 07 20:55 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I would be very grateful for help with the following:

The only information I have is that Thomas Pratt was Born about 1675 in Harston as was his wife Elizabeth.
I know of one son James Pratt born april 1707 in Harston.

I appreciate that this is not a lot to go on but I am working backwards from their descendants in Askrigg, Yorkshire.

Regards

Hi, Joe,
Had a quick look at your PRAT/PRATT/PRATTE family in Harston when I visited the CCRO this afternoon. Couldn't find a marriage for Thomas and Elizabeth PRATT in Harston, but here are their children's baptisms:
18-04-1697: Robert; 10-03-1699: Henry; 05-04-1702: Jane; 29-10-1704: Thomas; 06-04-1707: James; 05-03-1709: John; 31-10-1714: Edward.
An earlier generation in the same parish:
09-03-1627: John PRATT son of Luke
03-05-1630: Luke PRATT son of Luke
14-02-1631: Philip PRATT son of Luke.

And an even earlier generation:
09-11-1600: John PRATT son of Philip
02-06-1605: Alice PRATT dau of Philip
18-10-1607: Luke son of Philip

So you see, the family may well have lived in Harston for quite a while...
Very best wishes,
keith
