Hi

Looking for  Melissa Eliz Redding born in 1844, Wimbledon Surrey, in 1871 is living with her Aunt Frances, after that cannot locate her at all,

Appreciate if anyone could find her please

elusive lass !

Never see her with parents ..... in 1851, the 'Aunt' is with her own parents, William and Melissa in Wimbledon and 7 year old Melissa is the Grand-daughter ....

1861 again with Aunt Frances in Kingston .... I wonder if she inherited the house ?

I think you will have to trawl Marriage and/or Death registers ...... she isnt using Mel* as a name, nor Wimbledon or Kingston as a PoB in 81/91 ....

whats the source of her as your (ancestress) - later Birth Certs ?

March Q 1844 Birth
Melissa Elizabeth Redding
Kingston 4 207.
Have looked at the possiblity of a link with Thomas Redding on same page in 1871 census - both he and Frances were born in Sydenham, Kent - they could have been brother and sister - could Thomas have been her father?
Trying to find the siblings and parents of Jane Hillyard b C 1826 Ipswich, Suffolk.
Her father was John Hillyard Hay dealer (1847).
She married in 1847  Charles Swinstead, whose previous wife had been Emma Hillyard.
Emma's father was John Hillyard Corn Dealer (1839)
Both Charles Swinstead's marriages took place in London.
Were Jane and Emma related? 
Who were the siblings of Jane?
Who was her mother?
Any information gratefully received.

On 1841 Frances Redding is at home with parents in Wimbledon -along with brother Edward 15-Edward only one b. in county -another possibility for father????

yes, saw the Birth and 1841 earlier, didnt really open up things tho, apart from what Suz says about Edward. - more intrigued that young Melissa is so elusive ...

I guess you need the birth cert to prove one way or t'other ...

Jayne - where did your knowledge of Melissa start - maybe working back will achieve more ....

My Knowledge of Melissa is from when I found Frances, and her brothers, then found Frances living with her as we already know in 1861 / 1871, but then she disappears as does Frances. I think I will get her Birth cert establish who the parents are. But that will not help to find her later in 1881 etc
