Inverkeithing
« on: Saturday 06 January 07 11:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi I need some help please is Inverkeithing in Ireland and if so where?

Looking through my Great grandfathers marriage Certificate in 1917 it states that he was resident at the time of his marriage in Inverkeithing. He was married in Chertsey Surrey and was born in Yeovil Somerset!
So I have no idea why he was there. Can anyone help me.

Hiya Indigo,

Welcome to RootsChat.

There's an extremely useful search engine known as Google. I use it frequently. I knew the location of Inverkeithing was in Fife on the Firth of Forth in Scotland without having to resort to doing a search but
I thought you might be interested in having a look at a website about the place.

Best Wishes,

Chris

Probably something to with the dockyards at Rosyth which are only over the road or in one of the forces defending the dockyards.
