That burial is for the father of the Mesach Davies I had suggested. He was also called Mesach and his death was registered in june qtr 1855 when his son was 5.
As you have now said Mesach was a witness, rather than just named as the father, on the marriage cert, I think I can rule out the one from Penydarren as he died in 1890. At least the death of a Mesach Davies age 32 was registered dec qtr 1890 Pontypridd vol 11a pg 323. The age is out, but no other Mes(h)ach is leaping out of the census in that area. The one born in Penydarren was registered dec qtr 1853. But the one whose birth was registered in Aberystwyth is on the 1901 census so it can't be him.
The one born in Llangattock has a son called Charles in 1861, a son called John in 1871, no children living with him in 1881, is a widower enumerated in Nantyglo & Blaina in 1891, and his death is registered march qtr 1899.
If you believe Jane on her place of birth as given in the 1901 census, then you need to be able to place her father in Cardiganshire 9 months prior to her birth or do you think her mother travelled back there to give birth?
Who are the other witnesses on the cert? Do their names give any help?
