On SP, there are no returns for Christina Reid's born in Slamannan between 1553 and 1854, however there were 2 born between 1855 and 1906. One in 1876 and one in 1898. Tried checking them on IGI but could not find them, we will probably need more info.

However if you download marraige certificate of Robert Moffat to Christina Reid at Falkirk on SP, that should give you ages parent wedding etc.

Thanks for the info, you hav got plenty of info, need to separate wheat from the chaff.

I can confirm that Christina Fowler Moffat was born 21 Mar 1874 at New Monkland, Lanarkshire tp Robert Moffat & Christina m/s Reid. so looks like Fowler not Fuller so far.

Where are you getting the rest of family names from? (William 1876 etc)

Thanks Tom
Yes I have Fowler as Christina's middle name as well. All of the above children (William etc) was my dad's uncle's/aunties and this is where the info came from. My grandfather was the Robert Moffat 27 July 1878. Thought that they would be on the 1841 census as a family. Only have Christina Reid's parents fro her marriage cert.

William Moffat m Jane Sneddon 17 Oct 1846 Polmont Stirlingshire

Their children were: -
John b 22 May 1854 Polmont Stirlingshire
Robert b 27 Aug 1855 Polmont Stirlingshire

This seems to be a different family to yours, if your grandad was Robert Moffatt born 27 May 1878. Have you got prooof of the date and place of his birth, or hs that beenpassed by word of mouth. If we get correct place to start off, it will fall into plce quite quickly.

Hi Tom
Yes this is our family and I have Robert born 27 Aug 1855 Redding Nth Muir Polmont. Father William Moffat-mother, Jean Sneddon who married as you say 17 Oct 1846.
William Moffat's father was james Moffat born 17 Mar 1799 at Kilsyth and married Elizabeth Thompson born 5 Aug 1801 at Redding, Stirlingshire. They were married on the 4 May 1821 at Polmont..
The Moffat side you are on the right track.
It was the Reid/Fuller or Fowler side I have trouble with. Really appreciate your time Tom
