Missing pages in 1861 London census
« on: Friday 19 November 04 08:34 GMT (UK) »
I have been told that the street I am interested in - Polygon, Pancras (Enumeration District 4) - is missing from the 1861 CD's.

Does this mean it doesn't exist at all - or was it just missed from inclusion in the CD set?

If it does exist, where can I find a copy?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Julie

If It was missing from the 1861 cd's then it will because the original was not available to transcribe.

Whether or not you will be able to find this census return is anyone's guess  ??? I would suggest contacting the relevant family history centre to ask if they hold this census return on microfiche.

Julie - Ive got the same problem - am convinced one of my families is on one of the missing sections!

Welsh Jen - thats useful to know - might get my Mum to do a quick search at the FRO and see if she can see the page there.

Feel a bit cheated though as it didnt mention when I bought the set that there were some districts missing :(
