at the time mostly poor, esp the Bennellicks, tho some of the family improved their lot in the later part of century and in to the new era, 20th century.

Life was tough back then, for the have-nots.  :(

It would seem that the Puddicombes had a fairly large land-holding in Crediton as an area called  Puddicombe Park still exists. A Hugh Puddicombe is listed as a Freeman-a landholder of some substance and qualified to serve on Juries- in 1751. Can anyone help me with the Puddicombe family tree before Sally Puddicombe 1810 and comment on the family's status and standing in the community? Thanks.

Eric
