Thanks for that Pels  ???

I think my reply to that person would be - try going back to Australia  ;D

Glasgow is supposed to have a fanatastic night life - problem is that when we go, we either spend time with friends, go to concerts, etc. or spend hours over a lovely meal, sooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I need some youngster input, please. Julian - you're shirking with a cold - get out and do a rekkie  ;D ;D ;D ;D

That remark was so tongue in cheek!!

I love Glasgow - if I didn't, I would never have dared say it!!

Oh, I know that you like Glasgow, Pels. You've even sung 'I belong to Glasgow' on an earlier thread  ;D ;D ;D

Perhaps a few of us should have a pre-meet Meet and suss it all out?

Well I still have 7 days until I have the green light to commit to attending >:(

In the meantime ideas  ;D

I don't know many hostelries in the centre, just the usual "All Bar One" Style wine bars.

BUT I am willing to research that one with gusto and enthusiasm! Anyone want to join me?

I'l ask a few west coasters I work with.  If anyone has any ideas and wants a 2nd opinion I'm free  ;)

Thanks Pam

A few choice licensed eateries as well, please, if you've got time. I'll do a bit of a rekkie on Thurs/Friday but not much time  :(

When we have the entertainment sorted, we can fill in the serious bits

Thanks

Hi Cuz C - good to see Aunty Matilda back in all her glory, and yes:  her bum does still look big in that  ;D

Now, about the nightlife...A nice pub with good food, plenty of space for the dozens of RC-ers who are attending, and music that's not too loud is all I ask for.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh if only I could definitely confirm or deny.  I hate living in limbo-land!

Hello,

I received a PM from julianb asking if I'd learned anything from the event in Belfast last year that I could pass on to you. Offhand I can't think of anything. You seem to have matters well under control at this stage. I wish the same could be said about the Dublin event. That board seems to have gone quiet so I'd better post a message to see if I can arouse interest there again.

Since this event is in Glasgow why don't you post a message on Glasgow Forum.
You might get a few more members for RootsChat and some on the spot assistance.

Good Luck with this event.

Chris
