changed registration districts

Can anyone tell me where I can find out the registration district a particular area will come under and how these have changed over the years?  For example I have several births in Willesden, sub district Harlesden in the 1920s but am not sure that that district and sub district still exist 20 years later, so when looking for a marriage in this time frame I don't know whether I should be looking for Willesden or something else.

I usually search the internet for "Genuki" + name of place in order to sort these things!

It looks as though Willesden only existed 1909 - 1965:

There are some guide dates here, but if you search around the various places mentioned you should get a clearer idea.

There is a pdf file on Genuki - Index of places in England and Wales - I downloaded it and find it very useful. For each township/civil parish it gives the registration district/dates - including any changes between 1837 and 1974
