Wow Julia !! thank you so much ......... I've been looking at the image and it definitely says "Head " so that was the enumerator's faullt not A's !!

grrr - I'd looked under Robert HEAD.  I hadn't thought of Robet.

I would have transcribed it as HEAD too, but I think it says STEAD.  The ST is like the St in St Judes.

OK it's a badly written Stead but there's no excuse for Robet Well done Julia - good sleuthing!

There's lots of  inlaws in this census entry too - a rich seam.
