Per my 1938 Kelly's, The Cot was on the north side of Grange Lane. Here is the order in which the various named properties appear:

Grange Lane Right Side
(Belle Vale Road)
Thornside Dairy
Gateacre House
Grange Lodge
Grange Farm
(footpath to Huyton and Roby)
Grinton
Clapham
Threeways
Inglenook
Chartley Croft
Cremona
Placet
The Cot
Dalegarth
Rough Grange
Elmsfield
Cockshead Farm
Gorsey Cop
Gorsey Cop Farm
(Childwall Lane)

Have you plans to write a book at the end of all this - or at least an article for a magazine or newspaper?

Maybe do a write up for an article in the Lancashire Family History Society Journal?

Hi Kaos and Wocky

thank you very much for your message and excuse me please for my late answer, I am particularly occupied these times.

I yet precisely do not know what Iwilldo at the end of all this, in fact especially, I think, the time I will do will miss more.

A thing is however certain, it is that I will try to leave a trace of the formidable dash of solidarity from which I profited, in my search of passed of Robert (with the incredible starting impulse of my very dear Annie friend whom I will never thank enough).

Friendly

Michel

WOW!  I've just spent..... way too long.... reading through this thread, and reaching the end I'm left wondering, what happened next?

Did the Echo ever feature the story?  Did the tag reach Robert's (well extended) family in the end?  Is it still with Michel or now in one of our museums with the story you have all contributed to?

Please, somebody, tell me there is a happy ending to this beautiful tale?

Thanks!

I also came back to this thread.
I think Annie was still waiting for the paper but none of us knows if the article was printed.

To have got so far to see this to the end would be brilliant.
